Vienna Stock Exchange Launches Two New Fundamental Indices

(Vienna) Starting today, the Vienna Stock Exchange will calculate two new fundamental indices: The CECE Fundamental and the CEETX Fundamental, which contain companies included in the CECE Index and in the CEESEG Traded Index (CEETX), respectively. The index weighting is determined by the following indicators: Total capital yields, gross dividend yield and price-to-book value ratio.

The CECE Fundamental as well as the CEETX Fundamental are calculated and published by Wiener Börse AG in real time in EUR and USD. They have been designed as tradable indices that can serve as underlyings for structured products as well as for standardized derivatives (futures and options). The CECE Fundamental in EUR started on 2 January 2009 at 1,301.54 points and in USD at 1,809.48 points. The starting value of the CEETX Fundamental in EUR and USD was defined at 1,000 points as of 2 January 2009. The index composition is reviewed annually in September. The pre-defined index weighting is ensured by calculating the fundamental factors (FUF); the adjustment of the calculation factors is carried out in the months of March, June, September and December.

With the launch of the CECE Fundamental Index and of the CEETX Fundamental Index, the Vienna Stock Exchange has responded to the substantial demand in the market and brought the CEE/CIS range of products into line with the indices offered for the Austrian market. In total, the Vienna Stock Exchange now calculates 49 indices, with 39 of these tracking national, regional and sector developments in the CEE/CIS region.
