Vienna Stock Exchange: Flughafen Wien joins the Austrian leading index ATX

  • ATX: Flughafen Wien AG replaces DO & CO Aktiengesellschaft
  • ATX Prime: KTM Industries AG will be removed

(Vienna) Today's review of the composition of Austrian stock indices – in accordance with the Index Rules – resulted in the adjustments set out below. Vienna Airport, Flughafen Wien AG, joins the leading Austrian index, ATX, and replaces the catering firm, DO & CO Aktiengesellschaft. Vehicle manufacturer KTM Industries AG retires from the Austrian prime market, the premium segment of Vienna Stock Exchange. KTM Industries AG will be traded in segment standard market. Thus its stocks will be removed from the indices ATX Prime and ATX Global Players. A total of 39 companies are now listed in the segment prime market. All changes take effect on Monday, 20 March 2017.

The calculation of the ATX is based on a purely quantitative method which is defined in detail in the “Rules for the Austrian Indices of the Vienna Stock Exchange”. According to these Rules, the inclusion or exclusion of stocks from the ATX is reviewed half-yearly (March and September). The decision to include a stock in an index is reached on the basis of the daily average trading volume and free float capitalization of the company. The review of the calculation parameters (number of shares, free float factors and representation factors) is done on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, December). The ATX watchlist is published once a month. The index committee, which adopts the rules for the indices, includes representatives of institutional investors, trading members, representatives of financial institutions that issue products based on the index, academic advisors and the Vienna Stock Exchange.
