(Vienna/Budapest) On the 4th of December 2008 at the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) Mihály Patai, CEO of UniCredit Bank Hungary will be nominated the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BSE.
“With Mihaly Patai we have succeeded in attracting an internationally acknowledged Hungarian independent expert as BSE Chairman,” stressed Michael Buhl, CEO of BSE’s majority shareholder Vienna Stock Exchange. “We know his commitment for cooperation of all local market participants. I am looking forward to working together with him and the other members of the Board of Directors to be newly elected productively.”
“I am glad to accept the invitation to take this important position of the Hungarian capital market. I will work with the Board to further develop the Hungarian securities markets even in a not easy period of time”, Mihály Patai added.
Wiener Börse AG (50.4%) and Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG (18.4%) jointly hold the majority stake of 68.8% in the Budapest Stock Exchange. Changes in the Board of Directors are subject of approval of the extraordinary shareholder’s meeting of the Budapest Stock Exchange scheduled for 4 December 2008.
