Michael Buhl joins Management board of the Budapest Stock Exchange

(Budapest/Vienna) Michael Buhl, Member of the Management Board of Wiener Börse will become a member of the new management board of the Budapest Stock Exchange. The decision was taken today, Tuesday, at the extraordinary general meeting of the Budapest Stock Exchange. Mr. Buhl will be replacing the representative of the Austrian-Hungarian investor group Barbara Wösner who resigned from her mandate in Budapest on 23 January 2006 on the occasion of her resignation from Wiener Börse.

The other members of the Board of Directors consisting of six members remain unchanged; these are Chairman Attila Szalay-Berzeviczy, Vice Chairman Róbert Cselovszki, Ferenc Szabó,  Gyula Fáter and Áldott Zoltán.
 
The performance of the Budapest Stock Exchange is still excellent: The leading index, BUX, climbed in the past 13 months by over 50% and market capitalization tripled in the past three years to EUR 27.6bn. At a share of market capitalization to gross domestic product of around 38% the Budapest Stock Exchange is an important success factor for the Hungarian economy.
