Last month, the trading volume in domestic and international equities again showed an upward trend. In August 2024, the Vienna Stock Exchange recorded an equity trading volume of EUR 6.68 bn. Compared to August 2023 (EUR 3.41 bn), this represents a significant plus of 95.7%. Year-to-date the trading volume in equities amounted to EUR 42.94 bn and was thus 15.7 % higher than in the same period of the previous year.
The most actively traded Austrian stocks last month were CA Immobilien Anlagen AG with EUR 1.6 bn, ahead of Immofinanz AG with EUR 1 bn and Erste Group Bank AG with EUR 952 mn.
