(Vienna/London) Today the Vienna Stock Exchange and the Bucharest Stock Exchange are making their second data presentation to vendors in London. The purpose of the visit is to provide an update on recent developments in the regional markets and inform about the larger range of data available from the Vienna Stock Exchange. The data of the Banja Luka and Sarajevo exchanges will also be presented for the first time. The two exchanges signed data distribution agreements with the Vienna Stock Exchange in April and May of this year. The joint data dissemination enables the Vienna Stock Exchange to raise recognition among international investors for its partner exchanges.
“The joint data dissemination project is a business development success story for our stock exchange and stands for the good cooperation experience we have had with Vienna Stock Exchange since the signing of MoU”, said Stere Farmache, President and CEO of Bucharest Stock Exchange. “The increase of the data dissemination business at Bucharest Stock Exchange even in this period when markets go down shows the market participants’ interest in the Romanian capital market, increase supported also by our joint efforts to implement best practice of the data information field in our project”, Stere Farmache added.
“Data dissemination is one of our most promising business fields. Currently, some 100 vendors have subscribed to receive price data from the Vienna Stock Exchange via more than 30,000 terminals worldwide - and without any additional connection costs they can receive price data from our partner exchanges via their existing data feed,” said Michael Buhl, CEO of the Vienna Stock Exchange. The joint dissemination of data has developed particularly well with the Bucharest Stock Exchange since its prices were integrated into the data feed of the Vienna Stock Exchange in July 2007. Nine new customers have since been acquired for the price data of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
